Wouldn’t you know, I received the best (yet subtle) motivation via text while browsing all over the web for motivational quotes (silly me):
Jesse: Would you like to know what I love about my iPod?
Me: I would.
Jesse: Lisa Hannigan and Lisa Salasin are right next to each other.

“Nothing average ever stood as a monument to progress. When progress is looking for a partner it doesn’t turn to those who believe they are only average. It turns instead to those who are forever searching and striving to become the best they possibly can. If we seek the average level we cannot hope to achieve a high level of success.”

The Muppets Christmas Carol is by far the best Christmas Carol movie made.
If I could describe my Christmas in one word, I think it would be “food.”
Christmas Eve was great! Complete with shrimp cocktail, broccoli and cheese soup, baked brie, smoked gouda, muenster, cheddar spread with almonds, crackers, and summer sausage. And of course, Noffy had some chardonnay. We watched Jim Carrey’s The Grinch and half of It’s a Wonderful Life (best movie ever) until we couldn’t keep our eyes open.
Christmas morning was glorious! Sunny side up eggs, crispy crispy bacon, bagels with cream cheese, clementines, orange juice (Noffy had a mimosa), and of course… COFFEE!! It was a little sample of Southern Comfort brew, very interesting. Tasted better cold, though. AND… we had scrapple! For those of you from the East Coast, maybe you know what I’m talking about… it’s a delicious Pennsylvania Dutch breakfast meat (I’ll let you look up the ingredients on your own), that surprisingly we found at a local Publix here in Nashville. They even had the brand we make back home!
The rest of the day, after opening our gifts, we just lazed about and finished watching It’s a Wonderful Life (in tears, of course), The Grinch Who Stole Christmas the cartoon, and A Christmas Story while we munched on our Christmas Eve left overs and the candy, nuts, and caramel popcorn we got in our stockings.
Later in the afternoon it started snowing, so of course, we drove to the park and walked around (me in my new hand made scarf and gloves!). When we got back, we nibbled some more on our snacks and started on *drum roll, please*… DINNER!
Baked ham, asparagus, mashed potatoes, buttered dinner rolls, and Noffy had bought a nice bottle of cabernet for himself. We also made a blueberry pie, but we were way too stuffed by the end of it all to have any! (We’ll have some tonight when Noffy gets off work.)
We finished off the night watching the original Miracle on 34th Street and snacking on a little bit of chocolate.
All together I would say it was a tasty Christmas :)
Well, Christmas was amazing. A lot of relaxing, eating yummy food, and just enjoying each other. But today, since Noffy is working a double, I’ve got a lot of time to spare (even though I’ve already wasted about 2 hours doing nothing). So I think I’ll be productive today:
Now that I look at it… it doesn’t seem like that great of a list… but cleaning the apartment is a big chunk of productivity (trust me). And HEY! I’m on Winter Break! I’m recharging for next semester! Aren’t I?
Merry Day After Christmas!
